  SOFT-TOSS INFORMATION

by posted 03/27/2008

Practice this Saturday (05/10) at 9:00am.

SOFT-TOSS only has a few more sessions to go on Saturdays.  We will not be having sessions on memorial day weekend and there will be no soft-toss after that either.

So, we may add another night during the week as the weather is getting nice in the evenings.  Please finish strong and Coach Bretz is looking forward to seeing you this weekend!

Registration is still open to new players.  If you, or your friends, have any interest in trying soft-toss, please call please contact Coach BILL BRETZ at 908-303-7578

  Summer Camp Information

by posted 03/27/2008

All your summer camp lacrosse research is done.  I did it for you.  Just choose the times and sign them up.

I am waiting for Leading edge to release details for its Summer League where you can play games every week. Stay tuned for information on that.

On the camp side, Matt Poskay will be holding another session of his camp this year in Clark.  SIGN UP BY MAY 1st TO GET A LACROSSE STICK INCLUDED WITH YOUR REGISTRATION FEE.

Try to attend as there should be lots of kids from Westfield and Scotch Plains this year to keep the competition levels interesting.

See

If you are looking for a second option, I might try TRILOGY Lacrosse camps.  These are smart guys with an organized program for development.  The Montclair Kimberly camp is the closest and the prices are reasonable.   They have a 1st-4th session and a 5-8th session.

I might bring back Twilight lacrosse camp at some point.

If you are looking for a sleepaway camp, I always thought that Rutgers lacrosse camp was a good option.  There are dozens of others.  Its fun to get a couple friends together and get on a train to Baltimore or wherever and participate in a camp in another area of the country.  If my Son Max ever decides he likes lacrosse,  here are a couple places I might send him.  Every year to a different place...

1) Army.  " Will provide young men the opportunity to experience the Cadet atmosphere during their stay at the Academy. They will be housed in USMA housing (COTS & BEDS will be issued) and eat all of their meals in Eisenhower Hall."

2) Here is the link for Rutgers www.mvplaxcamps.com

3) Hopkins has a camp   hopkinssports.cstv.com/auto_pdf/p_hotos/s_chools/jhop/sports/m-lacros/auto_pdf/08-blue-jay-lax-camp

4) If he needs to toughen up, send him to Hofstra to play against Long Island kids.  You will need extra arm pads...   www.blueandgoldlacrossecamps.com/

5) I would definately organize a team a take lacrosse vacation to this place...  www.goldengoallacrosse.com/

6) I might send him to Syracuse to get that important central New York, heart of lacrosse feel...  Not sure about that... www.sulacrossecamps.com/home.html

7) How about the University of Santa Barbara, California?  Certainly a nice looking campus to spend some time.
